Wet-Felting Techniques Workshop
July 17, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Thanks to The Carmel Crafts Guild I’ll be teaching a felting workshop on Saturday, July 17th.
In this class, participants will learn the following techniques of wet-felting, nuno-felting, and surface design. Students will learn the difference between types of wool and create samples of the various techniques.
The image above shows all three of the techniques.
Students will create felting samples not finished products, but they will learn what they can do with these samples.
This materials kit includes the following:
*1 oz of merino wool roving (dyed in various colors)
*1 oz of natural Wensleydale/Romney wool roving (homegrown)
*assorted silk fibers and noil (dyed in various colors)
*assorted yarns (dyed in various colors)
*square of cheesecloth (for a nuno-felting base)
*square of synthetic material (for a nuno-felting base)
*netting (for covering the design in the felting process)
*solar pool cover square (for rolling the design in the felting process)
Students can order their kit from our shop.
Items the student will need to provide themselves: soap, water bottle or sprayer, towels, a dowel or pool noodle for rolling the design, water-resistant surface, and optional extra fibers and yarns if desired.
In your order notes, please specify if you prefer warm or cool colors, and I can accommodate your request. You may also specify what shade of natural roving you prefer from light grey to dark grey/brown.
Since this workshop is being held live, I will bring the kits to the meeting as opposed to shipping them.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates!
